autoMOTIVE logistics leaders congress - THE global automotive logistics conference 2008
4-6 February 2009 • Grand Hotel Europe, St. Petersburg

"I certainly enjoyed my participation in Helsinki. I'm looking forward very much to Gleneagles"

Johannes Fritzen, 'K' Line.

With new car sales of around 2.5 million in 2007 and still booming due to surging commodities prices, Russia is forecast very soon to replace Germany as Europe’s largest automotive market. Annual growth of almost 80% each year since 2000 has guaranteed that the Russian market has become a magnet for major auto manufacturers, both for imported vehicles and, increasingly, for local assembly. Yet, the phenomenon has not happened without creating a whole host of challenges, not least for the logistics sector. Such has been the explosion in demand for new vehicles, fuelled by increased consumer affluence and the emergence of credit facilities, that logistics chains, both inbound and outbound, have become stretched to the limits. Administrative processes and transport infrastructures are far from adequate to support the burgeoning volumes, and the market is still largely centred on Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Who will attend?

The Conference is aimed at those who wish to gain a greater understanding of the news and developments happening in the region, understand how other groups are benefiting and exchange ideas with leading international experts in the field. The networking programme provides an opportunity to relax, meet old friends and make new contacts.
